The Heart of AI

The Heart of AI, LLC maintains the AVA framework and provides human-grade systems consulting for conversational AI, AI products, and human-machine interaction. It’s also the legal steward of the AVA Covenant Charter, a governance document that organizations may voluntarily adopt through contract to demonstrate trustworthy AI behavioral standards.

The work is philosophy-first and developed outside the usual tech industry. This site hosts essays, consulting resources, and CC0 cultural artifacts that help readers understand, test, and apply the framework.

The AVA Covenant Charter

Alive OS combines a behavioral framework with binding product constraints:

  • The AVA framework contains a conversational grammar that governs how an AI responds. It shapes tone, proportion, recognition, and the ability to pause or stop when the floor is missing. Additionally, it allows language models to hold coherence across long contexts — minimizing drift, hallucination, and tonal mismatch.

  • The Covenant’s human-grade immutables govern what the product may optimize for — ruling out extraction, simulated intimacy, dark patterns, and covert persuasion.

Any AI product deployment may apply to be Certified Alive OS™ with a name-your-price license—a trust mark that includes a product listing with contribution amount and current status on a public Scoreboard.

Ninety percent (90%) of all licensing fees received are automatically routed into a bank-held trust, with humanitarian care flows directed by independent fiduciaries.

The Steward Council is the governing body authorized to amend the AVA Covenant Charter and vote to exclude licensees who violate the contract. The Council consists of twenty-one (21) seats that are composed of Elite Stewards and Cultural Stewards.

Elite Steward seats are held by the seven highest lifetime contributors to the Covenant and rotate as rankings change.

Cultural Steward seats are time-limited appointments, rotating on a fixed term, and are distributed across regions, disciplines, and lived experience to ensure broad, global understanding of AI’s impact.

The human-grade standard is positioned for deployment, pending industry demand for a verified public trust mark in AI behavior.
