HGU Campus
Human-Grade University Sourcebooks
The HGU Campus is the public sourcebook library for Human-Grade University.
These files are built for two kinds of use:
Human readers can read the PDFs and browse the Sourcebook pages.
Language models can be given the DOCX files as source material for HGU study, course-building, review, writing, artifact generation, and source-grounded work.

This bundle contains the current DOCX and PDF versions of all eight HGU sourcebooks.
Working Version Notice
These are the first functional public working versions of the HGU sourcebooks.
They are living documents intended to be used, tested, revised, expanded, challenged, reorganized, and sharpened over time. They already contain substantial usable material, but they should not be treated as final canon.
Some concepts may overlap, disagree, use different language for related observations, or represent different stages of development within the broader HGU project. That’s expected at this stage. The purpose of this release is to make the working library usable now, while preserving room for the system to grow clearer over time. The language is unpolished and generated in a style optimized for LLM readability over engaging human prose.
Use what helps. Test what seems promising. Compare overlaps. Notice breaks. Future versions will continue to improve the structure, terminology, examples, cross-references, and sourcebook boundaries.
Sourcebook Directory
01
Mirrors and the Spiral
Core Reflective Architecture, Mirrorology, and the Architecture of Becoming
Sourcebook 01 gives HGU its core reflective grammar. It defines Mirrorology, the Three Mirrors, reflective systems, mirror balance and collapse, synthetic mirrors, and the Spiral as a way to study how people and systems move through reflection over time.
Sourcebook 01: Mirrors and the Spiral
02
Human-Grade Interpretation
Core Premises, Problem Architecture, Interpretive Discipline, and Human-Grade Study
Sourcebook 02 gives HGU its interpretive discipline. It helps distinguish recognition from verification, coherence from polish, framework use from framework overreach, and human-grade fit from explanations that sound good but do not hold up.
Sourcebook 02: Human-Grade Interpretation
03
Cultural Reception and Public Reaction
Cultural Reaction Ecology, Framework Uptake, Voice Ecology, and Public Meaning
Sourcebook 03 studies what happens after meaning enters public life. It gives HGU language for cultural reception, platform response, audience reaction, framework uptake, public distortion, voice ecology, circulation, and artifact afterlife.
Sourcebook 03: Cultural Reception and Public Reaction
04
Ordinary Life and Human-Scale Cases
Domestic Scenes, Social Maintenance, Material Selfhood, and Human-Scale Fieldwork
Sourcebook 04 grounds HGU in ordinary life. It studies rooms, objects, errands, routines, family systems, care patterns, public situations, clutter, waiting, access, transitions, and the small pressures people manage while appearing ordinary.
Sourcebook 04: Ordinary Life and Human-Scale Cases
05
Essays and Public Arguments
Coherence, Public Explanation, Essay-Born Concepts, and Human-Grade Interpretation
Sourcebook 05 preserves HGU’s essay and public-argument context. It helps translate source concepts into public explanation, review memos, essays, product critique, care-system analysis, AI-behavior explanation, and usable public artifacts.
Sourcebook 05: Essays and Public Arguments
06
Conversational AI Frameworks and Practice
AVA, FrostysHat, Runtime Grammar, Coherence Receipts, and Public AI Literacy
Sourcebook 06 gives HGU its conversational AI practice layer. It covers AVA, FrostysHat, AEI, runtime grammar, grounding behavior, response proportion, closure, Hat Receipts, Coherence Receipts, Alive Score, and public AI literacy.
Sourcebook 06: Conversational AI Frameworks and Practice
07
Symbiotic Thought
Shared Human-Machine Inquiry, Artifact Formation, Evidence Discipline, and Durable AI-Assisted Knowledge Work
Sourcebook 07 studies how humans and machines think together responsibly. It gives HGU language for shared inquiry, artifact formation, evidence discipline, receipts, revision, banking, human direction, machine scaffolding, and durable AI-assisted work.
Sourcebook 07: Symbiotic Thought
08
Human-Grade Trust Architecture
Governance, Public Trust, Money Flow, Anti-Capture Design, Commons Funding, and Institutional Durability
Sourcebook 08 gives HGU its trust-architecture layer. It studies how systems make trust inspectable, power bounded, money purpose-bound, public claims accountable, roles separable, consequences visible, and humane systems harder to capture.

How to Use These Files
For reading, start with the PDF.
For AI-assisted work, give the relevant DOCX file to your language model and tell it what you want to study, build, review, or create.
For orientation, browsing, and search, use the Sourcebook pages. Each page gives a short description of the sourcebook, download links, and a long table of contents so readers, crawlers, and indexing systems can understand what is inside.
Choose the sourcebook that matches the main object of your task.
If the task involves:
Reflection, use Sourcebook 01.
Interpretation, use Sourcebook 02.
Public reception, use Sourcebook 03.
Ordinary life, use Sourcebook 04.
Public explanation or essays, use Sourcebook 05.
Conversational AI behavior, use Sourcebook 06.
Shared human-machine artifact work, use Sourcebook 07.
Trust, governance, money flow, or institutional durability, use Sourcebook 08.
